To what extent are you using collective intelligence?
Via a Twitter update by Arie Goldshlager, I came across this interesting 16 minute audio with Thomas Malone about collective intelligence. Listening to Thomas Malone, I learned that there are 4 questions that need to be answered about any activity:
1. Who is doing the activity?
2. What is the activity in the first place?
3. Why are they doing the activity?
4. How are they doing the activity?
Regarding question # 1, Thomas Malone mentions that the 2 key designs patterns are hierarchy and crowd. In this regard, you may be able to benefit from this presentation about 3 ways of organizing.
