Investments in Web 2.0 to grow strongly

Via this presentation by Matthias Rohs and this posting, I learned that Web 2.0 investments will grow considerably in the coming years. I also learned that, in Forrester’s view, the key hallmark of Web 2.0 is efficiency for end users.

To what degree are the companies/organizations/schools, you work for/with, using Web 2.0?

3 further ideas and/or inputs from you:

The company I work for informs its employees about various Web 2.0 applications and their use. In addition to that guidelines and policies are provided. Employees are encouraged to use Web 2.0 applications e.g. wikis, blogs, podcasting. Company communication includes for example podcasts and there are several wikis and blogs. Blogging is used on the public as well as on the internal web site.

Great input, Esther. To which degree do customers and suppliers of the company, you work for, learn from how you and your colleagues use Web 2.0 to communicate?

There is no specific communication regarding the use of Web 2.0 applications e.g. which applications are used, who uses them etc, unless in relation to special initiatives that involve such applications. However, the use and the involvement of the employees is shown by the fact that the public web site contains a large number of links and references to podcasts, blogs etc. The purpose of the public blogs provided is knowledge sharing and exchange between employees, customers and suppliers. Policies and guidelines regarding the use of the applications are reflected in the code of conduct.
